Thanks @tsmith_co for the suggestion to use @VB_Audio software to create a virtual device for your mic. It certainly prevents Teams continually changing your input volume.

@tsmith_co @MichaelCade1 I think I tried that, can't recall if it's free. I'm currently using the free version of CyberLink Youcam which works but is not ideal

@markgalpin @MichaelCade1 OBS virtual cam? OBS handles webcam and then outputs a virtual webcam. I’ve used that a couple times for Teams

Don't let @zoom_us or any application adjust your volume by default! It makes a mess of everything else or when you are not on that application!

@tsmith_co @MichaelCade1 agree Tim, however I'm still looking for a similar function for my Microsoft webcam. It would appear MS Teams doesn't like the driver and hangs the device every time I use it. Only happens in Teams of course.

@markgalpin @MichaelCade1 @zoom_us Now with noise gate setup, it acts like a dynamic mic - I keep it close to mouth and it picks up no extra noise. Especially no noise from the room or screaming baby

@MichaelCade1 @tsmith_co @zoom_us from personal experience Michael, I found it was Teams causing more of an issue as Tim states you can't disable it. You have to create a virtual device
