《Live and let live》 I might occasionally say something others find funny. Lap it up guys, as it doesn't happen very often..

@SamaHoole Most jars of honey are blends and I think thats where the marketing goes, and quality drops off.

Raw honey is sugar. I know. I know. The bees. The enzymes. The trace minerals. The single-origin Manuka with the medical-grade rating that costs more than a bottle of decent wine. The ancient Egyptian apothecaries. The antibacterial properties. It is sugar. A tablespoon of raw honey contains roughly 17 grams of sugar, of which about 8 grams is fructose, the kind that quietly visits the liver. The "raw" and "unfiltered" descriptors apply to processing. They do not apply to the chemistry, because the chemistry is glucose and fructose in approximately the same ratio you would find in high fructose corn syrup, which we have collectively decided is the villain of the story. The trace minerals: yes. The enzymes: yes, technically. In quantities so small that you would need to eat several jars to register a measurable contribution to your daily intake of anything that wasn't sugar. I am not saying honey is industrial slop. The bees did good work. The beekeeper did good work. The product is genuinely beautiful and a marvel of biology. It is still sugar. Spread it on your toast and call it a treat. Stop calling it a superfood. The bees are not impressed by the marketing either.

1/ There will never be a better time than now to attack Europe, says a prominent Russian warblogger. Alexey Zhivov says that victory in Ukraine is slipping away, so Russia needs to act like Iran and attack all the facilities in the EU that are being used to help Ukraine. ⬇️

Gent in yellow, "I'm an engineer, a scientist by background, and what I really care about is energy" "And that's one of these things which I feel has been turned into a culture war" "So let me say one thing" "We know that heat pumps, insulation, EVs, etc can save half your energy usage" "It's a massive difference" "And Iran, while, and this is not just about climate change, we can use as a strategic reserve" "We can use that oil for aviation or AI data centres" "But we've got politicians here on the table today, I believe, who deny these facts" "And why should we platform you when we can save that money? The energy. The money" "And this also means that we're not paying the oil money to Russia, which uses it to strike Ukraine every day, and we pay again for defence missiles" "So it's a very serious question. And this is the science, this is the fact. You cannot say that that does not save half the energy."

@WarMonitor3 One grandfather was a Sergeant in the RAF, a radio operator, Bristol Blenheim bombers. I was told coastal command. However, the airbases my father claim he operated from didn't fly Blenheims as far as I can tell. 💁🏻‍♂️ My other grandfather wouldn't talk about the war apparently.

What was your relatives role in WW2? I will go first my great grandad fought as an RAF pilot flying anti submarine machines hunting German U-Boats near Malta.

@AllisonPearson The US administration as is, didn't rate the UK at any level. Trump spent the best part of 12 months telling the world that and that 'he' could change the world - and then came up short. The airbases issue is a smoke screen because Trump still would have ended up where he is now.

The reason Britain’s relationship with the US is in the toilet is because Starmer played student politics for his own political survival. Granting access to use our bases was a simple courtesy (as the Americans pay for them!). It didn’t mean entering the war. Keir said No to butter up his left wing and so we have alienated the one guarantor of our national security. Without the US we don’t have an independent nuclear deterrent. This stupidity has made Keir feel popular (er, no) but will cause numerous knock-on effects. Emboldening our enemies- Russian subs in the North Sea - for one. Trump is a grudge bearer and we are in trouble.

🛑🛑To the Britons who suddenly rediscovered their courage after Javier Milei’s comments on the Falklands: two can play this game. You endlessly cite UN resolutions to insist that Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) are Palestinian, not Israeli. Yet the same United Nations has listed the Falkland Islands as a Non-Self-Governing Territory — an unresolved colonial question that demands direct negotiations between the United Kingdom and Argentina. All of a sudden, you don't care when the UN accuses you of colonisation. And, you dismiss its calls for talks with Argentina and instead boast about how you threw them out by military force in 1982, while demanding that Jews and Muslims in the Middle East negotiate with Hamas and the Ayatollahs!!!!!!!!!!!! So it’s all now about power, not international law? Let’s not forget: the Falklands sit 8,000 miles from Britain. The West Bank is literally on Jerusalem’s doorstep. And Argentina didn’t rape and murder 1,200 of your people — including women and children — in a single day. Selective principles, much? While I have your attention, a gentle suggestion to UK politicians and the British public: please “de-escalate” and “negotiate” with President Milei over the Falklands. After all, you constantly lecture Israel — and the world — about the urgent need for de-escalation and negotiations with the Ayatollahs, Hamas, Hezbollah, and every other terrorist outfit. Why the glaring double standard? Remember, as you keep telling us, only peaceful negotiations — never military occupation or force — can resolve the Falklands issue. Just follow the UN resolutions, as you so relentlessly demand of Israel. Good luck with that. P.S. Unlike the many dishonest voices who hold Israel to one standard while applying another to themselves, I am consistent. I believe the Falkland Islands are British. I also believe Judea and Samaria are Israeli. If anyone wants either territory badly enough… come and take it. I believe in military strength — openly, consistently, and without a shred of hypocrisy.

Sunday at 5pm hits a specific way when you've got a job you don't want to go back to. It's not tiredness. You've had two days off. It's that quiet awareness that the next five days don't belong to you and there's nothing you can do about it before Monday at 9am. There's a name for it. Most people write it off as normal. It isn't.

@MaMoMVPY About 1,500 men on the islands. That is a sizable force, but can they be resupplied? How long could they hold? Your navy getting supplies in is iffy, and aircraft ain't going to do it.
