Said it before, but ban questions from the floor at conferences. Questions should be submitted as a tweet-sized electronic message to the chair, and addressed and discussed at a speaker panel at the end of the session. Not hard to do, and respects speakers and audience alike.

Things from medical school in the early to mid 1980s you did that would seem odd now. Me? 1) Be able to drink a yard of baked beans in less than a minute. 2) Sit an exam when pissed and still get 8%!!!

When I was a wee boy I played doctors too! Then I did the whole proper medical training thing. This lot don’t even know what they are being taught is nonsense. Examining a clothed patient’s abdomen? Not taking a pulse properly? Here’s your new medical kit. For shame Keele.

I was a commissioned officer for 30 years. I’ve served as a medical officer in Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan and seen what conflict is like. This is insulting bordering on crass.

@drcolinm @HealthRegLawyer OK. At present there is a disconnect between registration with and regulation of practice by the GMC. At this time what would happen to a GMC registered PA/AA that was in breach of GMP?

I’ve tried very hard to explain this and clearly not succeeded. With thanks to @HealthRegLawyer for her helpful input. I will take this away and work out how to explain this better but I think colleagues are confusing our powers to set standards for ALL registrants - GMP 1/
