To be honest, Eric, we benefited far more from the Strait of Hormuz being open for business the way it was two weeks ago. I am not saying that removing the Iranian terror regime would be a bad thing. Far from it. But the way this has been handled has been a masterclass in how to alienate the very allies you later expect to help you. First you spend months treating your allies with open contempt. You threaten them with tariffs, question their loyalty, and make it abundantly clear that the United States does not need anyone. Then you start a war. And suddenly those same allies are expected to send warships to clean up the mess. Not only allies, but even countries you normally describe as adversaries. If you wanted support, perhaps bullying your partners was not the most brilliant diplomatic strategy. Perhaps you should have done what alliances are actually for: consult, coordinate and prepare together. Instead you did none of that. And even when it became obvious that you needed help, you still could not bring yourself to ask. No, you simply demanded it. Given the way your administration has treated its allies since Trump became president, that level of entitlement is… remarkable. You made the mess. You fix it.

Under Arne Slot, the spirit of Liverpool F.C. has slowly been drained. Week by week, the fire that once defined the club has been replaced with lifeless control and sterile football. The passion that supporters lived for under Jurgen Klopp now feels distant, and what remains is a fanbase watching the joy being suffocated out of the game they love.
