Australia banned guns (even pump shotguns) in 1996 with a mandatory buy back. 700k+ weapons were taken, or voluntarily surrendered. Now it’s mostly bad guys in Australia who have the firearms.

The platform that was breached today also did not contain PII, but this incident will may lead to a district (or another #edtech vendor) being attacked and having to close school in the future. If you aren't going to prioritize #cybersecurity, don't ask to be prioritized. 6/6

I still have arguments with #edtech vendors who do not feel that SSO is a necessary investment for them. They just don't see the value because "they aren't storing PII" or "customers aren't asking for it". I've had this exact conversation with 2 vendors in the last week. 5/6

A major #edtech company was breached today - this needs to be a wake-up call to the #edtech community. What happened today will happen to more vendors and can easily result in cyber attacks on school districts in the future. 🧵 1/6
