@marktumim @jewishstudent1 All I can say is the 1960s were a different time. My grandmother grew up in the 20s in Pennsylvania and said colored ppl all her life. Drove my mother nuts. “Mommy you can’t say that, it’s 1999!”

Yeshivish schools are basically affordable and when someone can't afford it they are not subjected to a financial colonoscopy before being given a break. Much to consider!

@jewishstudent1 @dov_rabinowitz I’m not trying to trash the system at all… I’m just saying that fencing instructors cost money as well as art, foreign language and whatever else these schools offer. My school had an empty field with giant wood chips that we played tackle football on and frequently impaled us

@marktumim @dov_rabinowitz Yeshivish schools have ample recess time with sports. The food is more nutritious than the average public school.

@marktumim @jewishstudent1 They also have a community of people who believe in their way of life with a fannatic zeal. This means that the thought of a child not getting this form of education drives people to rally around schools and support them financially, even if their children don't attend them.
