It was literally proven in 1952 by Michael Ventris and John Chadwick when they deciphered Linear B-the actual writing system found on Bronze Age clay tablets in Mycenae, Pylos, Knossos, and Thebes. ​The tablets proved that the Mycenaean civilization (the exact "Achaeans" Homer writes about) spoke and wrote an archaic form of Greek, which is the direct ancestor of Classical and Modern Greek. ​Furthermore, Homeric epics contain specific linguistic fossils, formulas, and vocabulary (like the title Anax for a king) that exactly match the Mycenaean Greek found on those Bronze Age tablets. ​The linguistic continuity from Mycenaean Greek to Homeric Greek is an ironclad, consensus fact in global linguistics. At this point, the only better proof would be a time machine.

@DIAS Mustard is good alternative to tzatziki , ketchup is outrageous . In Athens in many food places pita gyros on the menu suggestions the version with pork gyros is with tzatziki whereas chicken gyros version in with sauce mustard

@zamacingo EEZ issue between countries has to be agreed by the countries involved, Greece (and the same goes for Turkiye) can not decide by itself that this EEZ is mine, we have to agree on this issue together that this is mine and this is yours, if we cant we go on ICJ

🇪🇺🇹🇷Reports that Turkey is preparing domestic legislation to codify its illegal claims in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean are being viewed as a major warning sign for EU-Turkey relations, as the move constitutes a direct challenge to the EU itself, openly violating international law and the sovereign rights of two EU member states. At a time when Brussels is actively operationalising Article 42.7 into a credible collective defence mechanism-and when the EU’s credibility in defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its member states is increasingly under scrutiny- the usual cycle of diplomatic statements and symbolic condemnations will no longer suffice. Any escalation risks compelling the EU to respond with concrete and substantive measures rather than rhetoric alone. Defending international law, alongside the sovereign rights and core interests of its member states, is not optional for the European Union; it is a foundational obligation explicitly enshrined in the EU Treaties.
