Salah asked to be subbed off around the 73rd minute and went straight to the tunnel.
I’ve looked at the minutes prior to the substitution and nothing clearly stands out. He seemed to be moving freely and had a few high-pace actions.
When leaving the pitch, he was seen saying a few words to Slot. I’m no lip reader, but it looks like he’s saying “when I was sprinting I felt something in my groin”.
There are several negatives and several positives.
Negatives: Asked to be subbed off, straight to the tunnel, maybe referring to his groin, and the Brighton match only a few days away.
Positives: No clear incidents, doesn’t seem emotionally hurt, and walks off without problems.
It could easily just be fatigue, cramp or a minor muscular strain.
If that’s the case, there’s a good chance Salah will be fine for Brighton.
I see very little chance of this being something that keeps Salah sidelined for numerous (3+) weeks.
But the most important question:
Do they want to risk it with City in the FA Cup after Brighton?
