Ohio State made it very clear. They did not have the NIL funds for him and at that time the Sayin family really didn’t give a shit. Well that was then, this is now. Julian was a goddamn Heisman finalist his first year starting at Ohio State. How much do you think he was going to cost now? So when I see people complaining about Ohio State, not being aggressive enough and they’re trying to essentially shop on the damn clearance rack. That couldn’t be further from the truth because the thing that everybody is conveniently missing is the fact that. This Ohio State roster has gotten a lot more expensive and that’s even with the departures of a Caleb Downs, Carnell Tate etc. Julian Sayin got a new deal Bo Jackson “is getting a new deal” so you can RELAX on that one JJ got a significant pay raise They have to pay a lot of money to keep Max Klare out the draft They have to pay a shit ton of money to keep Kenyatta Jackson out the drive Jaylen McClain got more money Let’s not forget they are still holding out. Hope they can convince KMAC to stay. So they essentially have his money in escrow. Ohio State is making a program shift when it comes to high school recruiting and how they navigate the portal Ohio State going forward is going to focus “most of” their financial attention on “proven commodities” which is why you haven’t seen a single Ohio State starter hit the portal They are focused on taking care of the guys that have produced on the field for this program.
