@wba_147 He doesn’t beat his man enough or assist enough to be a winger, he doesn’t track back enough to be a wing-back and he doesn’t score enough to be a striker. Tell me what he offers

What’s with all the hate for KG baggies!?!? I understand the stupid fee we paid, but the guy has worked his socks off, full redemption curve completed since returning from exile… a genuine goal scorer and attacking threat. This hate agenda needs to stop #wba

@Albionwestand And then he’s out of a job again in four months? Would be a very poor decision by MG

Imagine a world where Grant, Maja, Dike and Jed all leave. The pressure to assemble a completely new, and coherently compatible front line would be immense, and very challenging. Perhaps KG and JM will leave, but I 100% understand the thinking in wanting to build around them #WBA

#wba want to sign Crystal Palace full-back Danny Imray on a permanent deal this summer. Imray was a key player for Albion after signing on loan in January. Any transfer likely to be delayed while Palace appoint a new head coach but Imray is a top target for James Morrison

@Albionwestand @J_Phillips1994 Palace have activated the year they had in their favour, so he’s not a free agent. That being said, I would hope we could get him for around £2m

@harrisc_04 Nowhere near as crazy as fans thinking they know enough about the inner workings of the club to state that the players suddenly ’started trying again’. Like it’s ever that straightforward

@martfully The ‘incredible run’ is what these players should have been performing at from day 1. Before that our performances were disgraceful and embarrassing. All the players did when Mozza came in was actually start trying again. The standards some of our fans accept are crazy.

I’ve seen some totally unjustified, fickle overreactions to yesterday’s performance. That squad gave everything for Mozza to get us safe, left nothing out there. They are exhausted. Psychologically, when safe, the adrenaline doesn’t pump as hard, the legs feel heavier (cont)…

The #wba outrage after yesterday is wild. In that atmosphere & occasion, from half hour before KO you knew it would be a tough match for anyone. Changed XI, effort over last 10 matches & safety secured. Sometimes just take defeat on the chin. In every aspect it was #swfc's day.

@harrisc_04 We’ll agree to disagree then mate. Calling some fans fickle is far less ludicrous than some tweets I’ve seen turning on the players (and even Mozza) after yesterday. Rather than accepting tiredness, the fingers point to early season performances, despite the incredible run. Crazy

It’s not just the players, but your original point that fans being fickle due to complaining about yesterdays performance is ludicrous. It was the same that we’ve seen throughout 80% of this season. As soon as there’s nothing riding on it, they play like that. Doesn’t give me hope going into next season.

@martfully I've seen it loads of times? Managers will usually always make excuses for the players. That's why Mozza said he didn't want to be too harsh because of how well they've done since he took over. The fact he still said he was angry and "learned a lot" speaks volumes.

@BruntyMozza When have you ever seen a manager justify a poor performance due to fatigue or upon the achievement of a key objective (in our case, staying up)? Never. A manager has to appear angry in public, but it doesn’t meant that, in private, he fully understood why the level dropped

@martfully So why was Morrison angry then? He sees and knows the players better than you or I do.

@harrisc_04 Only blaming the players is so lazy. The factors contributing to this season’s downfall have come from all angles. Every fibre of the club has been impacted by the poor decisions of others. It’s way more complex that attributing it solely to a homogenous group of footballers

@martfully If you can’t see the problem at this club are those players, then I don’t know what to say. Massive transfer window for us this summer.

@baggiedave70 Their whole club was on a huge wave of positivity, the players have stability, no deduction next season, the stadium was full. Meanwhile, we’ve just committed every fibre of energy to pulling off an improbable run of results. Yesterday shouldn’t be contextualised

@martfully Not really about “on paper”, more about what’s happened on the pitch. They’d won once all season before yesterday (!).

@harrisc_04 Mate, that’s ludicrous. The players were being played out of position under two head coaches. That same group were incredible under Mozza (who, along with Gill, have obviously been incredible) and, if you’re suggesting that they ‘refused to play’ for RM/ER, I wholly disagree

@martfully Because yesterday’s performance was parallel to most performances before Mozza came in. When there’s nothing riding on the game they lose to the worst championship team of all time. I appreciate the job Mozza has done, he’s the only one who deserves praise for this season.

@baggiedave70 Sorry Dave, but that view is just way too simplistic. What you’re suggesting is that, on paper, we should’ve beaten Wednesday. Well, ‘on paper’ Leicester’ should’ve beaten everyone. I just feel that the ‘there should have been enough’ narrative is hugely outdated

@martfully Still a touch embarrassing to be the only Championship side not to beat Wednesday this season and the only side to suffer defeat at Hillsborough in 13 months. However physically & mentally tired there should have been enough to overcome the worst ever 2nd tier side.

…and that was yesterday in a nutshell. The shape was still there, but the tiredness was so very clear. Having fans misappropriate that as apathy or laziness is simply unfair, after the run we’ve been on. The short-mindedness of the modern football is absolutely ridiculous #WBA
