Unbelievable. Former Irish Minister for Children Roderic O'Gorman was secretly buying houses using taxpayer funds and filling the houses full of migrants. Bertie Ahern wasn't the only politician caught on camera when canvassing. In 2024 Roderic O'Gorman was recorded at a woman's front door, but unlike Bertie who told the truth about immigration, Roderic lied to the woman's face, over and over. Of course he was buying houses for asylum seekers, God knows what else he has been up to that's yet to come out.

Patrick O'Donovan. Everyone in the State can complain to CnM about balance in news coverage. But here we have a senior minister abusing his office & position, and the power imbalance of his oversight role of CnM, to block news coverage which he deems to be critical of the government. Meetings, phone calls, emails show the Minister throwing his weight around. And here we have CnM passively acceding to the interference, and agreeing to meet the Minister in person to discuss how they could address his displeasure. After the uproar in April - Opposition politicians and the NUJ - it was Patrick O'Donovan's boss, Simon Harris who announced that O'Donovan "was no longer seeking a review" That's no longer good enough after the details revealed today of the extent of the interference. There should be a motion of no-confidence in media minister Patrick O'Donovan next week. It is also a matter of deep concern that CnM will facilitate interference in our news media, especially given CnM's role with showering media outlets with extra money.
