Mari and I have a new paper out today looking at children’s living arrangements during 2020. We find half a million “excess” children lived in doubled-up households- mostly multigenerational households!

My advisor, @DavidThue posed an interesting q: is there a name for the UX phenomenon where a user goes to take an action (like click something), but the interface updates during the process and they wind up taking an unintended action instead? If not, what would you call it?

lol - I rarely post on or use this site anymore, but it's hilarious to me that "promoted tweets" (basically advertisements) can get fact-checked by the platform. TBH, good for users, but I have no idea why advertisers or people who promote tweets would want this.
