“I feel like I spent a lot of my life just trying to get back to this place where I didn’t have to be better. I didn’t have to do more. I didn’t have to achieve to be worthy of spending time with God.” @marymarantz on the Grace Enough Podcast. graceenoughpodcast.com/dirt/

"We don’t give up achieving once for our worth and then stop forever. Like anything we’re addicted to, it’s a one-day at a time process.” This is one of my favorite quotes @marymarantz shared during our conversation this week. Listen for more mic drops at acuff.me/atg22

You’re so focused on what it is you’re missing... what you’re not “enough” of, that you can’t even START. What if today, instead you thought about all the people it would SERVE?

Something really BIG happens when you are BRAVE enough to say out loud, maybe for the first time ever... “This is what I want for my one wild and precious life.”

The true connection we crave most happens face to face. It happens when the mask comes off. When the walls come down. When we finally take off the cape and say, “It turns out I can’t leap tall buildings after all, will you still love me anyway?”

These capes and masks we wear are not just a barrier that keep everyone else out. They are also a prison of perfection that keeps us walled in. And we’re suffocating.

It is ok to not be where you thought you would be by now. It is ok to start over at something brand new. In fact, when you look back on some of the BEST things that have ever happened to you in this life, chances are they had NOTHING to do with where you were “supposed” to be.

Surround yourself with people who see the magic ✨in you. Your people should be mirrors🪞, not microscopes. 🔬 Mirrors show you who you are & who you’re becoming. Microscopes hold you in one place for easier scrutiny.🧐 Learn that difference early, and often. ❤️

We get so afraid of failing, that we would rather not show up to our own lives at all than risk showing up and getting it wrong. Than risk putting ourselves out there not knowing all the answers. What if we felt the fear, but showed up anyway?

“At the end of the day, this isn’t really a story about trailer-to-Yale-Law at all; it’s about making peace with the past and all the pieces that have made you.” -@marymarantz on her book Dirt. wvgazettemail.com/dailymailwv/da…
