im ngl, i was originally on this side as well but for an auto calc? assuming they were using the 1.0 variation without the drop angle, storm damage, and surge counter like i completely understand that anything that alters game files is generally cheating but people are pushing it too far by saying “competitive advantage” in my opinion.

a lot of people might not understand that competitive is these players’ livelihoods. As a result of poor timing from Epic they’ve now lost out on the chance at 100s of thousands of dollars. They need to restart grands or add an Open Qualifier for the Summit LAN

We've realized there is legit confusion on whether Fortnite competitive rules allow for use of drop calculators, which have evolved from being static web sites to real-time tools connected to the game you’re in. This confusion stems from the current phrasing of our prohibition: "Using any kind of cheating device, program, or similar cheating method to gain a competitive advantage” from our official FNCS rules. We'll be updating this to reinforce that these devices, programs, and methods are prohibited if they have any access to the real-time state of the game being played (e.g. through memory, screen recording, screenshots, audio, network traffic, files, overlays). This will include overlays that feed real-time screen information from the Fortnite client to competitive advantage analysis tools. Whereas things like informational web pages that don't access the current game state are ok. Given the confusion on this, disqualification of these players was a mistake and the DQs will be removed from their record. The bad news: due to the tournament timing, the lobbies are now full for this event and it's too late for them to continue in the current tournament. @QueasyFN i think it’s duos, new surge leading to less risky plays midgame, and then whenever anyone does make plays the broadcast never shows it which ultimately lead to a way less enjoyable viewing experience than previous grands

As a reminder, use of third-party software that gives you a competitive advantage can result in tournament disqualification - including from FNCS Majors. For FNCS Finals, any open qualifying spots will roll to the next players on the consistency leaderboard who were eligible to play in the Heats.

this is one of those situations that if fortnite allows you to play grands, it will blow out of proportion and everyone will clown on the esport. does that mean yall should be made an example of? no, but at the same time it looks terrible for 5 teams to have had a small advantage in heats

On Thursday evening, more than a dozen teams received either warnings or disqualifications from a recent event. As a result, some teams were disqualified from the heats, others from evaluation Cup, and some received only warnings. Several participants were using an earlier version of a tool developed by JoshuaSlugger (creator of droppingcalc), specifically the auto bus importer. A newer version 1.4 has recently begun rolling out as of 2days ago , which includes more advanced features such as storm tracking, teammate materials, and in-game bus angle calculations. Most of the disqualifications were related to the auto bus calculator 1.0 which was released 3 weeks ago which is part of the same software used for 1.4 which i didn't use. If the ban reason is exploiting, then how is it fair to exclude some players from grands when others did the exact same thing? In a situation like this, it should be either everyone or no one—anything else is inconsistent and unfair. As you can see in the first video this is what the 1.0 does. we were told that it was white listed application meaning epic allowed it to be used and Josh told us that epic approved him for the auto bus importer prior to us downloading this Josh's words "its a white listed application that's been around for 5+ years and the company is like 15 years old if it wasn't allowed epic wouldn't have approved being able to get the bus path a month ago". Many other pros also used this program and received warning and notification but were never removed of heats leaderboard. Bugha Kraze Veno Curve Vico Malibuca Acorn Boltz Juufn Kantri and more who haven't spoken up or are afraid I reached out to Hogman to clarify if something like the 1.4 version was allowed and never got a answer. i only ever used the 1.0 version which only has the Auto import bus. We would never knowingly or intentionally try to cheat or exploit this game. For years, we’ve followed the guidelines and upheld the integrity of competition. This game means everything to us, and being disqualified from one of the biggest events of all time is truly heart breaking. For many of us, this isn’t just a hobby—it’s our full-time career. Some of us have even moved countries, leaving behind family and friends, to compete at the highest level. We care deeply about this community and the standards it represents, and we’re committed to continuing to compete fairly and honestly. When the ban reason is exploiting. How would it ever be fair to exclude ppl from grands for doing the exact same as others do, based on "ah unlucky u used it in heats instead of eval gl in your future"? It should be everyone or nobody in that case 100%. Absolutely unfair how this is being handled right now. And in this case for having ppl automatically put in bus routes on droppingcalc the disqualification from grands should obviously be revoked.
