The Masomo Education Foundation (MEF) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 scholarships, recognizing six exceptional Zambian students for their academic excellence, resilience, and leadership potential.

In May 2015, Peter became City Manager, City of Toronto, following a unanimous vote in Council. 3 years later he was appointed Secretary of the Treasury Board of Canada on the advice of PM Justin Trudeau, effective April 4, 2018. He left in November 2021 to work as a consultant.

Peter was made the Secretary of the Cabinet and head of the Ontario Public Service (OPS) in 2011 serving until 2014, when he became an OPS Visiting Fellow at the School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Toronto.

The Masomo Education Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Peter Wallace as Chair of this year’s selection committee. Under Peter’s leadership, this committee will ensure a fair, transparent, and effective process.

On November 3, 2023, Mr Rowlence Banda hosted our Masomo Scholars at his residence where we had snacks, a quiz, and some awards for the scholars.

Great panel discussion at the Rhodes 120th anniversary reunion. Masomo president @CPutaChekwe joined Rhodes scholars, Aly Kassam-Remtulla, Maxine Williams, and Abigail Seldin, to discuss Education & Learning. Panel was expertly moderated by another Rhodes scholar, Sameer Bhat.

Applications for 2023 Masomo Education Foundation scholarships are in. At least 150 of the applications are of high quality. It will be a struggle for the independent selection committee to identify the top candidates. Last year the foundation selected 5 scholars.
