A historic day for Texas State football 🤩 The 26-point underdog Bobcats got their first win over a Power 5 school since joining the FBS in 2012!

Think of speed as an effort, not an actual velocity, time, or number. Do things fast and do what you can to maintain the qualities for as long as you can. Progress and regress sensibly. Continue resistance training, learn novel skills, work till your out of breathe… keep moving!

Neuromuscular coordination and speed can be the difference in solving an athletic task in sport… And also the difference in keeping you confident with movement and even catching yourself from a fall (leading cause of injury-related death among adults age 65+)

Move for life Competitive athlete or not, life long athlete centric training has huge benefits. The demands of our life are not different with or without sport… just the degree to which certain qualities need to be expressed Here’s why you should still move like an athlete ⬇️

Metrics don’t dictate or determine athletic ability We obsess over maxes, 40 times, and jumps, but they don’t hand out the Heisman to the weight room warrior… the give it to the best player of the sport Dont get lost in the weeds on what you’re training for in the first place

It’s hard to beat someone in sport who owns more space than everyone else on the field or court Cover space Cover it fast Your training should enhance your ability to do those two things Those that do it well dominate their game

Where you’re going matters more than where you’re at. Concerning ourselves with habits that take us towards our goal empowers us to continually grow and move forward. Isolating our concerns to where we’re at robs us of the ability to do anything about it.

Having a PHD in your sport, position, and scheme allows you to be “faster” than any speed training. Knowing your game and job description allows your athletic traits to shine. Not knowing it will handicap, and prevent you from expressing athleticism due to hesitation.

Variable loading in numerous planes and vectors will elicit adaptations that lay down collagen/fibroblast in a broader fashion. If you want to better disperse, transmit, and absorb forces (do what good athletes do) try the following ⬇️
