I’m sure this has nothing to do with Salah demonizing

Liverpool FC is top of the table, but not of a league to be proud of. A 4-2 pasting at the hands of Aston Villa on Friday night affirmed the Reds’ mediocre season on the pitch. But, according to campaigners, Liverpool is number one in complicity in the Gaza genocide. War on Want have published a league table of Premier League clubs’ ties to Israeli actions in Palestine. Liverpool are ahead of north London rivals Arsenal and Spurs in joint second place. Man United and Man City are tied in third place while the fourth spot is shared by Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton and Fulham. The league table is part of a report entitled Red Card: English Premier League Complicity in Israel’s Atrocities Against the Palestinians. The report says at least 15 Premier League sponsors have connections to the military assault on Gaza, the construction of illegal settlements and the wider system of apartheid. Liverpool’s shirt sponsor, Standard Chartered, provided $15.4bn (£11.5bn) to 24 complicit businesses between January and August 2025. The Premier League itself is sponsored by Barclays bank, which the report says has provided billions to 49 complicit companies. Neil Sammonds, senior campaigner on Palestine at War on Want, said: “These clubs speak proudly about equality, inclusion and community. Yet behind the branding, some are using ‘sportswashing’ to sanitise corporations connected to some of the gravest crimes and humanitarian catastrophes of our time. “Palestinian footballers are being killed. Stadiums are turned into detention camps. Child players are buried beneath rubble. “The Premier League has shown before that it can act when sponsorship becomes morally toxic. The question is why Palestinian lives appear to count for less.”

Regardless of our opinions on Slot, and how good he is as a manager - Mo Salah yet again cannot come out and say the things he’s said whilst he’s representing Liverpool Football Club as a footballer. Bang out of order and he’s not soft in the timing of it.

Mo Salah is being called selfish and also caring about Liverpool with his “heavy metal” comments. It’s possible to be both, caring about himself and the club. One of Liverpool’s greatest ever players was making a legitimate point, and he has a right to. Salah could have delivered his critique to the hierarchy in private but he’s leaving, rightly so as the revered 33-year-old is not the force of old. He’s more string quartet than heavy metal. By posting his critique to his 62m followers on Instagram, Salah wants everyone to know how he feels - and how he feels a club he’s served so well and loves so much can re-find its way. Of course, it’s embarrassing for Arne Slot, especially when so many of Salah’s team-mates "like" the post (whatever their reasons). It heaps more pressure on the head coach. But the football overseen by Slot isn’t good enough at the moment. It lacks direction, intensity and authority. Salah is right. Slot has to focus most on ensuring Liverpool finish in the Champions League positions, rise above the criticism and give Salah the send-off a club legend deserves at Anfield on Sunday. #LFC

At this stage it's not Arne Slot that is grinding my gears or even FSG for not making a decision sooner. It's those people that are battering and abusing club legends from the past and present and people that built this club to what it is or re-built this club back to what it was and everything in-between and those who contributed greatly to the trophies, the titles and the cause over the last century. The levels of revisionism just to defend the current person in charge is something I have never seen in all my life. The levels of abuse people are receiving from certain people who talk down to people, belittle people and share the same idiotic views and they've got platforms on certain channels all because they dare question Arne Slot. You can't one minute keep badgering on about how Arne Slot won the title and how great he is and how great the players are but then less than six months later from August onward all twenty five players aren't good enough we added serious quality to this squad but then not see the faults and flaws created by a poor set-up and system by the manager - The levels of hypocrisy are off the charts. These people will tell you Liverpool Football Club don't have high standards and actually believe it. it's all on the players, it's this reason, that reason, it's because of this, it's because of that. Arne Slot won the Premier League title and people will forever be grateful because for three quarters of last season it was good with little issues but for the following fifteen months there as been a total collapse without a doubt, it's not acceptable, regardless of past successes. This is what I'm saying you can't scream from your high chair about how great last season was then brush the following fifteen months under the carpet and then put all blame on everyone and everything but the manager.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆? There seemed to be only two people watching who thought South Africa’s Khuliso Mudau had actually committed an offence worthy of being penalised when his flailing hand touched Mohamed Salah’s forehead. Unfortunately for South Africa, those two were the VAR and the on-pitch referee Pacifique Ndabihawenimana. @NickMiller79 and @Walid_4 analyse the key talking points from an intriguing match in Agadir. nytimes.com/athletic/69186…

Today Israel bombed a school turned shelter in Gaza as a wedding was being held. An IOF tank fired on the building with 6 people murdered and dozens injured. Israeli forces then prevented ambulance and civil defence crews from reaching the injured, children amongst them. There is no ceasefire. There is no peace. Just brutal colonial oppression. 🚨BREAKING: Sources with knowledge of the situation told BBC Sport that Salah's relationship with Slot is genuinely broken at present. They said he simply doesn't see a future at Liverpool with Slot as his manager. They also say that he has been irritated by a feeling that pundits/former players are putting forward a narrative that he is one of the main reasons Liverpool have struggled. Salah is said to feel that Slot has been influenced by that media commentary – yet when he has not played the Reds arguably haven't played any better. We were told that Salah feels a different tactical approach this season driven by the club's transfer dealings isn't suiting him. Those sources were at pains to say how much Salah loves Liverpool and also how frustrated he has become at their struggles. ✍️@SamiMokbel_BBC
