Today, the last Friday of Lent, is a day the Church dedicates to the Seven Sorrows of Our Lady, symbolized by seven swords pierced into Her Immaculate Heart. She experienced these seven sorrows throughout her life, after accepting to be the Mother of God made Man, Jesus Christ. The greatest of them took place during the Passion of Her Son, when She saw Him arrested, scourged, beaten, crowned with thorns, humiliated with every kind of insult, crucified and put to death—especially when, after all this, She held His lifeless body in Her arms. We will live all this more closely next week, during Holy Week. Fontes
