If Spurs went down, I don’t believe it would be a fire sale. Even with potential 50% wage clauses - 4 big earners (Romero, Xavi Simons + 1–2 others) would need to go. But funnily enough the wage structure Levy put in place helps—most drop to Championship wages anyway.

@spurstalk88 This is genuinely down to my opinion but I don’t think they’d risk staying in the championship. I think they take the year with lower revenue and take a controlled hit to try and get back to the premier league, because if they stay down that’s when it’s going to be a real issue.

@masterfvnk Oh we’d definitely have a better bank balance than most but we know how ENIC operate - they’ll still want to protect their margins

@spurstalk88 It’s still the players on large salaries that would need to be offloaded. Even with sponsorship & TV revenue drops, Spurs would be a massive financial operator in the championship. A lot of the squad players would likely stay in my view.

@masterfvnk It would depend if it impacts our sponsorship deals - the loss of income from those and TV money might mean we have to sell more players than we’d like

@tehTrunk @COYSJordan94 Sale wouldn’t be likely due to the decrease in club valuation, maybe the stadium could still be a pull factor but the premier league revenue lost would have an impact. They could sell if they don’t believe they could get back into the premier league but that’s wishful thinking.
