I consider myself a proud slop-keteer. I wrote functional code that wasn't very smart. Lots of repetitive code, with O(n^n) complexity at times. Some really hacky stuff. Did it lead to a career in engineering where I improved? Yes. Did I learn to spot slop? For sure! So...
