Venice just secured its own Autonomous System Number (AS402818), essentially getting its own slice of the internet's backbone. Instead of routing through AWS or Cloudflare, they can now run their own network infrastructure with dedicated IP address space. This means Venice is likely moving from rented cloud GPUs to owned bare-metal infrastructure - physical servers in data centers they control. For a privacy-first AI platform, owning the network layer matters: fewer intermediaries handling your data, better control over latency, and insulation from cloud provider censorship or rate limits. The registration is fresh (July 27, 2026 per the ARIN records) and tied to Venice, Inc. out of Sheridan, Wyoming. Jesse Proudman appears to be involved with Venice given he's announcing their network backbone going live. Translation: Venice is graduating from "startup renting compute" to "infrastructure company owning the stack." That's why it's happening.

The thesis played out. ethereum:0xb50721bcf8d664c30412cfbc6cf7a15145234ad1 has now retraced its entire pump following the launch of Robinhood Chain. Daily REV on Robinhood and average transaction fees continue to cool as speculative activity on the chain moderates from its peak. That ultimately translates into lower fees accruing to the @arbitrum DAO. One of my favorite tokens to short whenever it pumps.
