Ask yourself who are the people who want to take down Jo Boaler at all costs. Then ask why. The answers have nothing to do with mathematics, but an elitist, status-driven gatekeeping of the subject. The attacks are gross. Full stop.

It dawned on me, @Stanford really needs to outsource the Boaler investigation to a neutral third party, and they need to make it clear that they are doing so. Why? 1. If the research discussed in the filed complaint can be linked as the basis of any professional development services sold to school districts by Youcubed, which is a part of Stanford, then if Stanford finds her guilty of research misconduct they may be implicating themselves in some sort of fraud related to misrepresentation of sold services. 2. Boaler holds the Nomellini-Olivier endowed chair. Angela Nomellini is a member and former Chair of the @StanfordEd Advisory Council. Her husband Ken Olivier is on the Stanford Board of Trustees. The couple are big Stanford donors, and in fact are lead donors on a major construction project for @StanfordEd: news.stanford.edu/report/2023/01… 3. At least in recent history, she had the support of another mega philanthropist and recent Stanford Trustee Laurene Powell Jobs scottaaronson.com/cmf-documents/…

Someone just dropped a 100 page complaint about Jo Boaler's reckless disregard for accuracy through citation misrepresentation.
Stanford University should not allow this type of academic dishonesty.

I tutor my neighbor's daughter 3 times a week and it's mostly just helping her catch up on missing work - homework, classwork, projects, etc.
She is in the 8th grade but unfortunately grade levels behind in every subject - she can barely read or do basic math
And unfortunately struggles with everything she does in school (except art - she is an amazing artist)
I try to teach her and fill in the gaps but all she cares about is getting the answers so basically everything I say goes in one ear and out the other if it doesn't pertain to the question's answer
She just wants to finish her work as fast as possible and be done with school for the day
I asked the mom to have a meeting with the girl's teachers to discuss what they should do about it because this isn't sustainable
According to the mom, the teachers said a lot of the kids in the class are in the same position and the teachers don’t even know what to do
I can only imagine this is more common than not across the entire US
