Another fast track outrage: a company which made substantial donations to 2 parties in #NZ Govt gets permission for a major urban development in a flood zone which also lacks water/wastewater/transport infrastructure. Who picks up the inevitable costs? thepost.co.nz/nz-news/360968…

Didn't he cut many regional destinations out as well, leaving people virtually stranded We know he sold the Australian operation because he couldn't be chair of the board It's almost as if he puts his personal sensibilities ahead of the company good Just like his govt #nzlast

Luxon set up the sale of Air NZ's lucrative London route in 2020, to gain a $42m cash injection & boost short term profits. He was advisor when sale executed. Now, A-NZ can no longer afford to re-buy that lucrative route. Staff also said Luxon was focused on short term cost cuts

@chrisluxonmp I'm worried about the effects that will have on households already struggling with support groups like foodbanks starved of funds and many closing That's the choice your govt made when you syphoned taxpayer funds off into landlord and party donor pockets rather than NGOs &support

If you’re feeling concerned about petrol prices, you’re not alone. We know it’s tough, and the last thing any household needs right now is more pressure on the budget. While these pressures are global, New Zealand is in a stronger position to handle the impact of conflict in the Middle East than we were two years ago, because of the steps we have taken to rebuild the economy. We will continue to manage the economy responsibly and support Kiwis through this unpredictable time, delivering the steady economic management needed to minimise the impact on households.

Yet they thought it was OK to speculate and invent huge costs for port projects that bore no relationship to reality Now @winstonpeters @NicolaWillisMP just hide their own ineptitude and poor decision making which delayed ferries by years at what is likely to be a higher cost

They're not trying to hide anything, are they? "Unredacted briefing blunder reveals hidden Cook Strait ferry costs." thepost.co.nz/politics/36096…

Nicola Willis says she has actively commissioned and is looking at advice on how the Govt could provide “targeted” support for families most hit by rising fuel costs.

@NZNationalParty So useless! Talking about nothing! What have you been doing for the last 3 weeks? People are hurting now! Add in the 4.5% food inflation makes the problem worse! Call out the illegal war for what it is! It is not a conflict. It is a war!

The conflict in the Middle East will have an impact on the economy, but NZ is starting from a much stronger position now than was the case a few years ago under Labour - when debt had reached $120b, inflation was at a 32 year high of 7.3%, and skyrocketing mortgage repayments and higher taxes were weighing Kiwis down.

Many in Invercagill upset about a mega AI factory that will consume 2nd highest load of electricity, Wellingtonians upset w/ a $5bn Petone road & Aucklanders shocked at flood plain development Welcome to fast-track as Bishop designed it: You don't get a say, nor do Councils
