HACK THE MINDS N1
This is the first interview in a series to get inside the minds of the creators and builders of the NFT realm.
It is the turn of @ALCrego_
Enjoy!
H: The first question I asked myself when I saw your works was: but how does he do it?
No, I don't want your technique, I want to savor your works in mystery.
But I have to ask you, how did you get there not from a technical point of view but from an inner point of view?
AL: Reflection, repetition, routines, patterns, images from words, words from images… A need to create/translate thoughts to make them tangible.
H: If your art were a virus, who would you infect in the NFT world and what effect would it have on the infected?
AL: I understand the web as a ‘who’ as a ‘body’, so the Web. The effect would be antibiotic.
H: Your art has a critical balance of light and dark, a recent post of yours really struck me: There's something faster than light: the dark.
When light arrives, darkness was already there.
How did the darkness get there? Where did it come from?
AL: It never got there, it is. The difference between light and dark is that light depends, needs to collide to ‘exist’, to be perceived.
Dark just is. Light is the tool, dark is the canvas.
Even more in digital art, where even black is light.
H: What is the heaviest criticism you have received and how did you turn it into art?
AL: To be honest, I can’t remember, because I’m usually more open to hear bad critics than good ones so I don’t understand them as bad. Maybe that I repeat myself a lot, which I totally understand and agree: I do gifs.
H: Your art spreads around the world, what subliminal message would you hide in them to "influence" humanity?
AL: If I explain it it’ll lose its magic! :) But let’s say that I enjoy using my work as pieces of a big puzzle in the board of the ‘web’ so, the more we fit them, the more we see the whole picture.
H: You go off the deep end and get locked in a room for eternity, which of your works would you take with you for company?
AL: None! This will be like placing a mirror in front for eternity… I’ll create more news inside there with 2 stones or scratching the walls with my hands.
H: If you came face to face with an evil version of yourself in a parallel world, how would you challenge each other in an artistic duel to determine who is the real A.L. CREGO?
AL: I’ll ask him to suggest an artistic duel to determine who is the real one and I think he will do the same so it would end in a tie and maybe accepting we are both ‘fake’ and doing a seamless loop about this ‘prompt’.
[Which mind would you like us to hack in the next one?]

Do these Queens+Kings♛ remind you of anyone? Perhaps a couple of Masters in the Art world? These are the types of traits you’ll miss out on if you don’t hack before April 30th! Don’t say we didn’t warn you! 😉

Dear 🫡
If we ask ourselves,
"Are you happy with how the NFT space has evolved?"
The answer is "No."
We have been making art in the NFT space since April 2018 (for 5 years now), 23/7.
Our passion for the space has led us to share what we have learned in the early years with other artists, builders, developers, collectors, hoping to contribute to building a new healthy space where we can create art.
We have seen many scams, influencer artists and collectors come and go, platform failures, manipulated markets, crypto winters and summers, distorted dynamics, hoarding mechanisms, false narratives, and we have even been bullied and put under pressure.
The illustrious victim of this "filth" is "trust".
The trust that the early community built to convey the historical impact of NFTs in the art world.
And when an artist or a collectible project comes and goes taking profit, they deeply undermine this trust.
How should all of this affect your inner creative fire?
Zero! On the contrary, it gives us unease to create Art.
And you, collectors chasing this or that Pied Piper, aren't you tired of falling back into the same song?
Ask yourself: where do I place my trust?
Despite all this, the thought of leaving or waiting for "better markets" has never crossed our minds.
The inner fire of art does not care about markets. Making art is an uncontrollable attitude. We are here to stay and will continue to create art and collect with the same enthusiasm as always.
We already have projects planned for 2023 and 2024. Just to name a few:
2 large generative art projects that will be released in the coming months (a primordial dream that is finally coming true)
An Q+K animated series (a childhood dream that is taking shape).
And other projects that we cannot reveal at this time…
This is to say, look who believes in it consistently.
The NFT space and crypto art will continue to change. Communities around an artist, collector or influencer will continue to emerge and disappear.
Much art will come in the future from new generations who will find here the opportunity to express themselves.
The only way to make the space what we want it to be is to STAY HERE and build with humility, perseverance and constancy.
