Poilievre in media scrum. Unwilling to answer any questions. Answers questions with a question. Rude, ignorant to reporters. Voting for him will provide Canadians with NO ANSWERS. #cdnpoli #onpoli #peipoli

This measure will have a profoundly negative effect on the economy in Montreal, not to mention creating chaos for workers looking to *renew* their work permits. Many vulnerable people will be hurt by this short sighted "tweak" to the Temporary Work Permit program.

@TonyZabaglione @AHousefather Thank for the advice but I’d rather stay in my home and my community, and also remain Canadian. In fact, what you’re arguing is actually what separatists want! Please stop helping them.

@AHousefather It’s time for Quebec to leave Canada If they want to be their own country in all respects versus being part of our once great but now lost confederation of provinces, then they should go. The rest of us will be better off without this obnoxious tail constantly wagging the dog

I concur that there is a constitutional vulnerability but we are now focusing only on the proof we “historical English speakers” need to provide to get health care in English. We should also be asking why anyone who prefers speaking English would be denied healthcare in English?

@pennynk1948 @Aaron_Derfel Um, that doesn’t really help those of us who would like to remain in our homes here… it’s actually what the CAQ seems to want. Please stop helping them push us out.

@Aaron_Derfel Historically the vast majority of Canadians wanted QC to stay in 🇨🇦 and significant compromises were made. But appears u take more than u contribute all while anglophones, and the great country of 🇨🇦 are considered vermin. Maybe it's time for QC to go.

@MattHar65517869 I'm glad we agree that housing is a right, and the Government ought to be providing it to all Canadians! I wouldn't have pegged you as a socialist, Professor, but good on you!

🚨NEW: Pierre Poilievre just gave a shout out to a disinfo-spreading YouTuber who regular posts anti-trans trash. He appeared to recognize the YouTuber and told him to “keep up the great work.” This is…not a good sign for Poilievre’s information diet:

@ I’m listening to iHeart ♫ @iHeartRadio iheart.com/podcast/962-cj…. Fact: students from English schools score better on French mother tongue provincial exams than do those from French schools so perhaps our French schools could learn from our English schools!

@diana_murphy613 It really depends on the circumstances. I enjoy living in a country where people are free to dress as they wish, say what they wish, and where they’re (and I’m) allowed to be wrong. A scarf does not upset me - I’m far more worried about someone who harbours hate but hides it.

When you see someone wearing the kaffiyeh, how does it make you feel? Makes me nervous. Why? Because of the hate and death chants from those who sport the kaffiyeh in our streets, while 'peacefully' 🙄protesting. Never thought about it before Oct. 7th as hardly anyone wore the kaffiyeh. This hate symbol should not be allowed in Parliament or any Legislature in Canada.

@cultmtl We need to dispel the idea that Quebec independence would lead to economic collapse, harm Montreal or jeopardize English-speaking institutions. I agree that the fear mongering need to stop.

“The fear-mongering about referendums continues. Less than two weeks after the ‘decline of French’ myth was debunked, we’re subjected to more culture wars from our public officials. Imagine how great this province could be if our politicians remained focused on issues that improved our collective well-being. Just 1 in 3 Quebecers support separation — Alberta and Saskatchewan currently have more anti-Canadian sentiment than Quebec. Don’t let Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, or any politician for that matter, fool you into believing sovereignty is any more popular now than it was a decade ago.” Observations from Montreal cultmtl.com/2024/04/observ…
