Powell: "The thing a good number of people on the committee are concerned about is the very very low level of job creation. If you adjust what has been the trend job creation over the past 6 months for what we think is the overstatement due to overcounting, effectively there is 0 net job creation in the private sector"

@mountainwesttax This is my area. I don't think there is any chance that house sells for that much.

@tndbaker06 Yes, bad places get created in these cities too, but that happens everywhere. There are some shitty spots in Utah as well.
But we put up NIMBY laws to regulate how cities are built that force them to be shitty, and then blame them for being shitty.
English

@tndbaker06 Have you been to Chicago and New York? There is some of the best places to live in the world in these cities. I lived in Logan Square for a while and it was completely wonderful. I walked more (lost 30 pounds) going to the L train to travel. Beautiful architecture.

This what Utah could look like if we were more like Russia or Chicago

what family-friendly density in Utah could look like
English

@tndbaker06 The Utah that you enjoy today is the result of people 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 the Utah of yesterday. You were okay with them 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 their changes on the different cities of the past, but now you want to put today's Utah in a time capsule.
Cities are evolving things.

@mattcantstop I’m so happy for the people of Amsterdam. If you want this experience in America so badly, move somewhere that already has all the benefits of housing and population density. Quit trying to force it here.
English

@JacksonForUtah I don't know. Everywhere I have seen with density is absolutely terrifying. Take these two vides of Berlin and Amsterdam. Nightmare inducing levels of violence and scariness.
English

This is where that mindset has gotten Utah
Sprawl, concrete, and million dollar homes
No log cabins, no access to the real outdoors, just sanitized suburbs as far as you can see

@tndbaker06 What “family friendly density” should look like in Utah.
English

@UrbanCourtyard It can be more family friendly with more green spaces. This spot in Berlin changed my perspective on urbanism forever. If cities were like this far less people would want to flee for the suburbs as soon as they had kids.
English

@ScottHatfieldJr @UrbanCourtyard It is very possible to have family friendly and density. Does this seem like a divisive place?
We build cities poorly in the United States. But that doesn't mean cities have to suck. We just need to get better at building them.
English

High density does not equal family friendly. As someone who lives in “density” it only stokes the flames of division. Everyone on top of each other, no yards, no green spaces, no places to cultivate your family.
This is disgusting at best. This obsession with “density” needs to be plucked out of our state.
English

@imelizabethlane One of the most transparently shitty humans of all time tricked you?
English

I’m not very talented generally, but I’ve always had one skill. I can read people quickly. I usually see through their bullshit and recognize them for who they really are. I have to admit, this is the first time I’ve majorly f**ked up about someone. I should have seen who this asshole was when I watched this video. It’s crazy how your brain tricks you into believing what you want to believe. But better late than never.
Reporter asks Trump: How are you holding up over the last day and a half, sir? (After Charlie's Assassination)
His answer: I think very good. By the way, right there you see all the trucks, they just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House...
This asshole betrayed everybody.

@goofirnoth I discovered you can paste, it's just ctrl + v instead of command + v. Makes it way easier.
English

@mattcantstop You can if you paste it from the notes app on mac not sure why that works
