On Tuesday I had the honour of meeting the UK’s first astronaut, Helen Sharman… what a fantastic person and genuinely one of the people who influenced my career in STEM and specifically Astrophysics @LJMU_Astro

@MarcusHouse There was a call about 50s in to throttle up before max Q, at that time 3-6 engines were out, thrust would have been 80% of expected at that point. I’m also wondering whether the hold was related to Starship (there were Stage 2 issues reported), and they just ‘had a go’ anyway?!

There were 3 engines out as it cleared the tower by the looks.

@MarcusHouse MECO didn’t seem to occur, whether that was unintentional (and related to the lack of staging) or intentional to burn off fuel before detonation remains to be seen. I’d imagine the stresses during a powered spin would be *relatively* low at that altitude.
