@mattday821 Tale of two sides of farming arable not good for many but livestock seems to be doing OK. Obviously straw expensive but good for us who bale to sell.

While the arable side of the farm is a disaster at the min , the beef side certainly isn’t , had a weigh up today , all steers under 19 months , 4 of them where well over 700kg and only 5 under 600kg The heaviest ones off to abattoir next week ! #limipower #finestbritishbeef

@NathanMcClure16 They are on a home milled ration of barley , beans , minerals and a small amount of soya , at present these animals are on about 4kg a day , they are also being fed stock feed potatoes every morning

@fenboy01 @loweroddfarm You no it’s bad , when u can leave the field with a full trailer , tip , head into the house , have dinner , put my daughter to bed and still get back to the combine before the other trailers full !!

@loweroddfarm @mattday821 I think the lack of trailers leaving fields gives the game away. Yield maps serve more to show variation in field rather than totals. Such as sh!t and incredibly sh!t 😂

While the arable side of the farm depressing , the cattle side however is far more exciting !! For the first time we are taking animals all the way to fat weight on the farm instead of selling them as stores , these are all steers varying from 14.5 to 16.5 month #britishbeef

Started cutting winter barley today , the mighty TX68 has been replaced !!, dad’s 60th harvest driving a combine , and this is the first John Deere combine he’s had !! @BenBurgessAg

@turbotechdog We have the same rake , and both sets of wheels / axles have sheared off one in tue first season and the second the season after !! Went back to does!!

@panteryrod They don’t go through the race very often , and it’s never for anything nice !! So they were very reluctant today ! Some decided to practice there show jumping !!
