Just had the pleasure of meeting the Schooner Scorer at The Cross Keys. He was surprisingly down to earth and VERY funny.

Increasingly little about England seems to work or make sense in 2025. But what does work, in a misshapen, often unpretty, playing-with-a-broken-leg kind of way is our Lionesses. They are “proper England” and I love them. goal.com/mundial/proper…

This is a really nice long read from @ryanmarch_ that highlights so much of the hard and wonderful work @WMenywod @pennymiles31 and many others have done in recent years to make Saturday come to life.

Wales Women walking out at their first ever major tournament game is a moment decades in the making. And Ryan March has spoken to the people who made it happen. Long live the Red Wall. goal.com/mundial/wales-…

Absolutely devastated. I loved watching Diogo Jota play football, the way he darted around, hustled, scampered, found himself in goalscoring positions on the end of crosses, deflections, blocks. He symbolised a period of time where it felt like Wolves could do anything, beat anyone, be what we wanted. Diogo always looked like he loved playing football, which for me, as a fan, really, is the thing I enjoy seeing most. I want to be out there too, scampering around, chasing lost causes, getting on the end of bobbling crosses, celebrating a goal in front of 30,000 Wolves fans... so if you're a player who is enjoying actually getting to do that, man, I love you. I love you. The world feels like a dark place in so many horrific ways right now, and I am heartbroken for his family and loved ones and anyone who knew him. "Diogoooo... JOTA, running down the wing, JOTA, hear the Wanderers sing, JOTA, we're all going to Gdansk" will live in the heads of the people who were there for those moments forever. Thank you Diogo. I'm so sorry man.

Damien Duff is gone, but what he made Shelbourne fans feel will last forever. We spoke to @RedsIndependent editor Barry Crossan last year about Duffer resurrecting the football club he and so many others love. goal.com/mundial/resurr…

One of the most important pieces I've ever written. Al Hilal Omdurman have had the best season of anyone in World Football. Playing 5,000 km from home in Sudan, they won the Mauritanian top flight and had their best season in the Champions League for a decade!
MUNDIAL@MundialMag

‘Away from family, friends and their home, they have become closer to Sudan than anyone could have imagined.’ This is the incredible story of Al Hilal. Displaced by civil war, they've just completed one of the great sporting stories of our time. goal.com/mundial/blue-w…

Let me tell you a short story. My father and I, we’ve endured so much suffering in our lives. We’ve experienced a lot of bad things away from football. Tonight, we feel vindicated. It’s been worth it. We experienced this together. That’s what football is about. 💙💙💙

If I'd moan about Wolves being shite as a kid, my dad would get the table out, point at each team, and go "Look, do you think they're happy? Them? What about them?" I wrote about why football doesn't have a disease just because your team drew 0-0... goal.com/mundial/morder…
