@lui_log @DigItScotland @StoneMePodcast There are bike hire places in all of Stornoway, Kirkwall and Stromness, so you should be set! I really can't recommend it enough.

@lui_log @DigItScotland @StoneMePodcast Stornoway to Calanais is 16 miles on a beautiful lonely single track road - there and back is totally do-able in a day, and it's wonderful. And as I say Orkney sites very do-able.

@DigItScotland @lui_log So it varies hugely! Sorry, not an easy or short answer. I did it in several trips from Glasgow, not as a single tour - they're so far apart that would be probably weeks of cycling. Hope that helps! 5/5. @StoneMePodcast

@DigItScotland @lui_log But to do the Stones of Calanais I spent five days doing some fairly tough riding that you really would have to be on a decent road bike to manage (the length of Skye, Harris, across Lewis then Ullapool-Inverness). 3/x @StoneMePodcast
