You need to get a grip because you're embarrassing yourself here. I like you Matthew but here are the facts as I was there. We had no idea Andy was there. The reason we stopped by is because there is a lake there where Rob fishes and he was showing us places in the constituency that meant a lot to him. Whilst there a few of us went into the cafe to use the toilet and have a cup of tea. The lady who runs the cafe sat down at our table and discussed how the cafe works and the challenges they faced. Nothing was planned it was just a convenience break. Burnham lost his rag with @christiancalgie who happened to following our group. Don't be a @MatthewStadlen You're much better than that.

Andy was visiting a community centre which supports adults with special needs, the media and Reform turned up without invite and upset the service users who have varying levels of disability Doorstepping is largely fine in my book and he’s gonna get it but there is a line.

@Nigel22335301 They weren’t. As relayed by the manager and those there. Burnham has been dozens of times as Mayor since 2017 when it was set up hence his invite following the historical support he has given them.

@Iromg Because he was invited and the manager said exactly what I’ve written. Tends to be the case that people can become upset when a load of blokes turn up shouting and jostling when you haven’t mentally prepared people with special needs for it.

@MatthewTorbitt Out of interest was he visiting the cafe as Manchester Mayor, or as the MP candidate? Is he receiving full Mayoral pay and the Mayoral office support and resources for his election campaign? Do his staff receive their pay from the Mayors office whilst helping his campaign?

Nuanced, partly a failed asylum system, asylum homelessness up about 300% in Manchester along with other areas. People aren’t processed in time and arguably in some cases shouldn’t be here. Temporary accom up by 71% over recent years driven heavily by systemic throughput blockages and scarcity of social housing. Same as most other places.
