Today I learned that if the officials don’t show up to an NHL game for whatever reason and nobody can agree on replacements, both teams just … pick a player. The player from the home team acts as referee while the visiting player gets to be a linesman. This is an actual NHL rule

The Minnesota High School State Championship between Moorhead & Minnetonka had a larger attendance (19,648) than ANY NHL game on Saturday (19,070). This truly is my favorite stat of every hockey season. Such a testament to the fandom and support of the MN hockey community

Pablo López has a torn elbow ligament and “surgery is very much on the table” according to Twins general manager Jeremy Zoll.
If surgery is needed, López would miss the entire season.

Gov. Tim Walz says he expects Operation Metro Surge to end in days, based on his recent conversations with Border Czar Tom Homan and WH Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. Walz expects Homan to make the announcement by the end of the week.
