New towns must contain 40% affordable housing—so the Green Party decides to collaborate with Tories to prevent the delivery of 8,400 affordable homes?

The Tories and Greens are now set to hold talks over how they can work together to save the borough’s Green Belt, with both vehemently opposed to Labour’s plans for building thousands of homes at Crews Hill and ‘Chase Park’. enfielddispatch.co.uk/enfield-counci…

Sir Keir Starmer transformed the Labour Party into a serious, electable force, and I voted for him. As Prime Minister, he has made real contributions, and I am grateful for them. However, the country must come first. Millions of working people desperately need a focused Labour government delivering a brighter future. Yet we cannot govern effectively when we are constantly distracted by speculation, mistakes and a loss of trust. Even in places like Redbridge, where we held up better in the locals, the message from voters was clear: the Prime Minister has lost the confidence of the country. Today’s speech failed to show he can regain that trust or lead us through the huge challenges we face at home and abroad. It is therefore with deep regret that I conclude it is in the national interest for Sir Keir Starmer to step down as Prime Minister and Leader of the Labour Party. This must happen in a smooth, dignified and orderly way so the Party can choose new leadership and get back to the work people elected us to do.

We don't need a leadership contest. It will damage us. We are already being damaged by calls for one. I will back the PM in the event of a contest. Here's my argument: labourlist.org/2026/05/the-gr…

'You're still being very timid...' @AndrewMarr9 presses Steve Reed MP about Labour's agenda, branding it 'not radical'.
