In Maryland, I am so grateful for the state delegates, state senators, and county councilmembers who are leading the way on these pieces of legislation. As a delegate, I will stand alongside them and the advocates in our communities fighting for their passage.

Rest in peace Renée Good. Rest in peace Alex Pretti. We must prevent the next ICE killing. If Congress can’t act, states and localities must use every tool, every lever, every ounce of power to protect our communities from this terror.

I want to spotlight the incredible work of District 14’s Charisse Callender-Scott and Coach Bo of the Communibuild Foundation who helped secure the warehouse space for Toys for Tots this year. For the last 15 years, Ms. Scott has had to scramble each fall to find someone willing to lend space from October through December. Our county should come together to find a permanent space for Toys and Tots to allow donations and storage year-round.

For decades, Ms. Scott has made sure every kid in our county has the dignity & joy of a gift to open during the holidays. 60 years ago, in a time of need, she waited in the Toys for Tots line to receive presents for her kids. She has been paying it forward ever since.

Honored to be endorsed by the Montgomery County Education Association. Fighting for our schools is the work I do every day as a labor lawyer and it’ll be the fight I take on as Delegate: free school meals, a minimum wage for school staff, and less paperwork so teachers can teach

David and I worked side-by-side at March For Our Lives, fighting in statehouses, Congress, and the courts to end gun violence in this country. Honored to have his & Leaders We Deserve’s endorsement. I’m ready to continue standing together in this fight for a politics of urgency.

From bus drivers to custodians to college adjunct faculty, the working men and women of SEIU Local 500 are the backbone of our community. I am honored to have their support in this race & I’m ready to fight alongside them to deliver the strongest workers’ rights in the nation.

I’ll also support legislation to end 287(g) agreements that let local law enforcement act as ICE agents and legislation to bar school police from engaging with immigration enforcement in schools.

States have to use every tool available to stop ICE’s intimidation campaign. To start: our state government has the constitutional power to ban ICE agents from wearing masks. As Delegate, I’ll sponsor legislation to do exactly that. We will not accept secret police in MD.
