The biggest issue in football is literally the lack of actually playing the damn sport. Most teams are rarely ever live outside of a game. This is more extreme at the lower levels. Some kids have never tackled or been tackled till 9th grade. Controversial to some, but I believe it’s MORE dangerous to not learn the actual skill, and you cannot learn it when you’re not doing it. In high school, it’s all nonsense rugby and bag tackling drills, and nothing to help players avoid being tackled. And we have certainly not seen a decrease in injuries. It’s a violent sport, but you have to play it to get better or don’t play.
