Day 242 - 243 of #365DaysOfCode👩‍💻 Try as I might, I just didn’t like Tailwind. End of. But I discovered SASS, and I particularly love the SCSS syntax 😍 Been experimenting with mixins, using arguments and variables to craft reusable & flexible components of my own 🤩 Love it ❤️

Very cool! I normally turn to SVGs for things like this - will be trying out these gradient patterns for sure.

🚧 Avoid this common mistake with useEffects in React! Using effects to sync state and props internally can lead to unnecessary renders & complexity.

Back to coding later today or tomorrow. Catching up on sleep after a very worrying couple of weeks with my dog. Found out that he has something called Spikes disease. Really unpleasant for him & very disturbing to have to go through for us. Anyway, we now have a management plan.

Had an idea to integrate one or two API services into my portfolio. Not sure if I'll end up implementing any for this initial version but I think the side quest is worth pursuing as it could open up possibilities for future development!

Day 222 & 223 of #100DaysOfCode | #365DaysOfCode 👩‍💻 Made a start on coding the Battleship game, writing the test first and then code to make it pass before refining the code and making sure it still passes. Vite and Vitest are a true pleasure to setup and use 🤩 Long way to go 😅

Collaboration is key in coding. Don't be afraid to ask for help or work on projects with others.

Got started building my portfolio over the weekend - made some good progress. Layout for each project is mostly done. Adapted some React components from older projects I've made to speed up dev time. Going to add more content then work on styling once everything's in place...
