@76Fixer They can’t. She will call the police, and he will likely be arrested as the abuser. This happens all the time. Also, if men reported domestic violence at the rate, women do, and falsely reported it as much as women do the statistics would look extremely different.

In relationships where there is one sided violence, the woman is the aggressor 70% of the time. This proves that MOST men are benevolent, and women know they are safe enough to feel comfortable doing this ALL THE TIME.

The stabbing of two Jewish men is horrifying. So too is the attack on a Muslim man the same day, ignored by much of our media. All human lives are equal — and we should oppose all hatred and violence wherever it appears. That’s how we build a safe & peaceful society for all.

When a white supremacist gunned down 10 black people in a Buffalo supermarket in 2022, the NYT's @Jbouie and other liberals blamed mainstream conservatives for "inspiring" the anti-immigration views in whose name that shooter killed. Bouie claimed in the NYT that the killer's manifesto was "virtually indistinguishable from mainstream Republican rhetoric," and conservatives thus bear blame. Liberals wanted Jack Smith to prosecute Trump for the violence on January 6 based on this same theory: that Trump "inspired" the January 6 violence because his speech "inspired" that violence and they acted in the name of Trump's repeated claim that the 2020 election was stolen. The Right also embraces this theory, as they're doing now: blaming liberals and Trump critics for last night's WHCD's shooter because the would-be assassin's manifesto shows he acted in the name of common anti-Trump sentiments (ironically, last night's shooter actually did read and liked many liberal statements, including those of Jamelle Bouie, Wil Stancil and other partisan liberal luminaries). All of this is dumb. Words are not violence. You're not responsible for someone's violent acts because they share some or even all of your views. The Supreme Court has repeatedly said that preserving the distinction between words and violence is vital for basic conceptions of free speech (see Claiborne v. NAACP (1982). You allowed to express opposition to open borders, and you're allowed to criticize the American President, even harshly, without being held responsible if some lunatic uses violence in the name of your views. I think this is under priced, I think a large chunk of the population won't believe these stories because they sound so insane and implausible and verifying the authenticity is often behind a paywall. It's like when you say to the average person that you don't even need citizenship to vote in UK elections, the average person simply has no idea because it sounds insane and it's standard practice in virtually all other countries to require citizenship to vote. These crimes by small boat migrants are reported on frequently by GB News, The Daily Mail, The Express etc. These sites for the most part are freely accessible, but a lot of people won't trust what these outlets report, they will assume they are lying, exaggerating, missing context; whatever it may be. News outlets like The Guardian, Metro, The London Economic, The Independent etc are also mostly freely accessible without a paywall, but they won't touch this stuff with a barge poll because it's Kryptonite for their world view. Sometimes you will get the BBC, Sky News, Channel 4 and ITV report on these cases, but typically only if they attract major attention and it's typically just a brief summary lasting no more than a few seconds, without any context or detail. And with the frequency these small boat migrant crimes are occurring, the majority never get covered. Outlets like The Telegraph, The Times and CourtNewsUK will report on these crimes, with details of what was covered in court and context behind each crime, but their articles are almost always behind a paywall, which the average person is never going to pay for or bother to bypass.
