ito po ang physiology ng before and after acl injury
before acl tear:
- provides mechanical stability (prevents anterior tibial translation & rotational instability)
- contains proprioceptors (enables neuromuscular control and joint position sense)
- allows coordinated, stable knee movement during dynamic activity
after acl tear/reconstruction:
- loss of native ligament structure dahil replaced na with graft (not identical biologically)
- reduced proprioception dahil impaired na ang neuromuscular control
- altered biomechanics (compensatory muscle patterns)
- persistent micro-instability, especially during pivoting/impact
clinical implication:
- knee becomes chronically vulnerable
- higher risk of re-tear, contralateral injury, meniscal damage, early osteoarthritis
- under high physical demand (gaya ng example, military training), risk of functional decline or permanent disability increases
AGAIN ISA PA ULIT ULIT ULIT an acl tear permanently alters knee biomechanics and proprioception. so even after reconstruction, the joint remains functionally compromised and more prone to re-injury under stress. this is real, both physically and neurologically kasi muscles may guard or hesitate. reaction times and joint control can be slightly delayed. SO, even after “successful rehab,” the body remembers the injury. the body compensates, but movement control is never 100% the same.

to explain this further, kaya AUTOMATIC EXCEPTION ang ACL injury kasi prone siya mangyari ulit. once na tear na acl mo, considered siya as a permanent condition regardless if sa tingin niyo ok na, iba na rin reaction ng katawan mo after the injury. kapag na re-injure sila dahil sa rigorous physical training sa military, the risk of them being permanently disabled is sooo high and that is a liability to the government. also why di yan grade 4 (public service) kasi may basic training pa rin yun at the risks are high bcos of the physical demands. if fan kayo na athletes, alam niyo na kapag nag acl tear yan, di na same performance yan or if close man sa old performance nila, palagi na injure ulit. ko ting mali sa talon, di na makapag laro ulit. i know meron mas makakaexplain better sa medical side as to how your body reacts kapag nagka acl tear ka and how your body reacts after, & the moment you do rigurous movements even after successful rehab pero nagkakatrauma rin body natin 🙃
