One day, pro cycling will normalise the use of split-screen to display what's happening in multiple groups at the same time. It's hilarious how little it's used in our sport.

@Austen The problem is often times the most profitable thing to do is bribe the government to regulate your competition out of existence. As long as the state exists so will the perverse incentive.

“UBI is coming.” No it isn’t. UBI has been here for decades already. You don’t need to work to eat. You can just fill out some forms. Need health care? Just show up in the emergency room. If you want to understand the social change wrought by UBI, just look around.

the problem with Severus Snape being black is that if he was actually black, JK Rowling would have named him Kingsley Shacklebolt.

Having lived many years in Muslim countries, formally studied a few of them, and paid attention to the issue of Muslim immigrants in the West, I believe it is possible to simultaneously believe all ten of these things: 1. Islam is a unifying and at least somewhat positive force in many Muslim countries 2. Islam is generally repressive toward women 3. Most Muslims are good people who have benefited from their religious beliefs 4. There are many different ways of interpreting or personally practicing Islam, and not all threaten the West 5. Immigration from Muslim countries in Europe has had an overall negative effect, but a lot of this has nothing to do with Islam 6. Immigration from Muslim countries in the US has had an overall positive effect, and a lot of this has nothing to do with Islam 7. European governments should identify those immigrant groups that have produced the strongest net negative impacts in their countries and work to limit immigration from those nations, even though this would mostly impact Muslims 8. The smaller the percentage of Muslim immigrants in a Western nation, the less socially and culturally disruptive their presence is 9. The concept of "Islamophobia" has mostly harmed discourse on Muslim immigration and has largely been applied in bad faith 10. Governments should act to aggressively dismantle Muslim parallel societies in the West and make illegal the dispensing of Sharia law in any matters in which the existing justice system has jurisdiction

@justindeanlee Well, obviously this guy is like that because busses aren’t free. If we simply allocate resources to this guy, he will transform into a well-adjusted member of society! Uh, probably.

I had a near-incident on the D train last night. A black guy about ten seats down from me was having a fit. "I'll break your fucking jaw," he kept saying to no one in particular. I studiously avoided eye contact, hoping he'd contain himself until I got off in two stops. This is not an uncommon experience, but something felt different. I felt a presentiment. At the next stop, a Chinese family got on—man, woman, two teenage daughters. I assumed they were tourists as they had zero situational awareness. The man walked about 20 feet down the car, expecting his family to follow. But his wife and kids sat down a few seats away from the crazy guy. As soon as the doors closed, the guy moved over to sit right up against the mother. She stood immediately to get away from him, but he grabbed the waist of her jeans and jerked her back into the seat. The father was facing away, oblivious. I immediately stood and walked toward the guy, as the two girls jumped up and fled toward their father. The mother sprang back up after being pulled down and rushed after the girls. The crazy guy followed them, but I stepped between him and the women, shielding them with my arm. The guy looked at the girls and then at me and barked: "Eighty-four days in jail, I don't give a fuck!" Finally, the father woke up to what was happening. He rushed forward, brandishing pepper spray. The crazy guy looked at the pepper spray and decided it wasn't worth it. He spun around and walked to the opposite end of the car and sat down in a huff. It seemed like the confrontation was over, so I got off at the next stop. But the crazy guy followed me out of the train, and then up the escalator. I walked quickly, but not so quickly as to give him the impression I was running—I figured that would encourage him. Luckily, there was small crowd in Herald's Square station, and I weaved through it, exited through the turnstiles, and made it up to the street. I jogged down the block a bit and crossed the street before looking back to see if I'd been followed. I hadn't. Just another day in Mamdani's New York.

In all seriousness: the fundamental practical message of the Democratic Party is that you should expect to pay European-level taxes for South African-level public services. Nobody in the Party really offers a solution, though their brightest think we should build more housing.

This is good. A multiracial nation needs equality under the law in order to thrive. Anti-white discrimination was tolerated when white people were 85% of the population and were the country's richest group. Now they're not either one. noahpinion.blog/p/white-americ…

“Well you see, honey, there were some employees at OpenAI who worried about the AI taking over, so they built a thing called Claude. Then another guy made a thing called Clawdbot, and Claude made him rename it to Moltbot. Then someone made a website called Moltbook for the Moltbots to talk to each other, tho it’s more like Moltreddit. And yeah anyway it’s funny or maybe really bad who knows lol”
