Today is a great day
RBR Daily@RBR_Daily
🚨 FIA president Ben Sulayem has confirmed F1 will return to V8 engines "It's coming, oh yes, it is coming. At the end of the day, it’s a matter of time. In 2031, the FIA will have the power to do it, without any votes from the power unit manufacturers." "You will hear about it very soon. It will not be something like now, which is a 46-54 split. There will be very minimal [electric] power." "I'm targeting 2030. One year before the maturity [of the regulations]. it will happen. But let's say the manufacturers don't [vote for it], then one more year and it will be done. It's not a matter of, 'Do I need their support?' No, it will be done. V8 is coming." max about the regs: “the car itself is fine. you can race reasonably well with it. you just have to move away from 55-45. it needs to go back to how it was with the previous regulations. when you’re just at 75-80% on the engine.
it’s very easy to fix. it’s about certain parts of the power unit. that’s always a political thing because everyone thinks they’ll have an advantage somewhere. i’m just thinking about how the sport can be better. it just shouldn’t be that if you keep your foot down longer through a corner, you get penalized on the straight. we need to get rid of that.
the criticism of the regulations stays the same. it doesn’t matter whether i’m second or eighth. only for me personally, the driving feel is a bit nicer now, of course. but a solution still needs to be found.”

Isack Hadjar says the RB22 was very fast during qualifying
"Yes, much better. I just couldn't finish it cleanly. The car was very difficult to drive. It was very fast, though. In Q3, I just couldn't get everything to come together."
"It was entirely down to myself. Just the driving. I think it is a very difficult track. There is very little grip and the track temperature is high. It is totally incomparable to what we had in the first three races. It is not a flowing track with good grip. It is completely different and Max is very, very good at adapting to these conditions."

Hadjar was asked(Before stewards summon) whether he, like Verstappen, is much more satisfied with the car he is driving
"Yes, much better. I just couldn’t finish it off neatly. The car was very difficult to drive. It was very fast though. In Q3 I just couldn’t get everything to come together.
"It was only down to me. Just the driving. I think it’s a very tricky track. There’s very little grip and the track temperature is high. "In the corners I can tell you that I’ve made big steps compared to yesterday. I just didn’t manage to put it together as neatly as he (Verstappen) did.
"Yesterday I really felt like I had to dig deep. Half of the lap time yesterday was in something I have no control over, and the other half was down to me, so I knew I really had to show something extra. And today, honestly, when I look at the data, I’m satisfied with what I was able to do."

Max is still not happy at all with these regulations
"The rules they have adjusted don't make that much difference to the overall driving pleasure."
"That is going to take a while, of course. We'll see then. But you know: the car itself is actually fine; you can race reasonably well with it. We just need to move away from that 55/45 ratio. It needs to go back to at least a bit like it was in the previous regulations. That you're just sitting around 75 or 80 percent engine power. If we can potentially move towards that, that would be very nice."
"It is always a political story, because everyone always thinks they have an advantage somewhere, or not. But I am just thinking about how we can make the sport better. It simply shouldn't be the case that if you go full throttle longer through a corner, where you gain time, you get penalized on the straight. We need to get rid of that."
"The criticism of the regulations remains the same. It doesn't matter whether I'm second or eighth, but for myself and in terms of driving feel, this is of course a bit nicer. It just still needs to be resolved."
