Why Erinla? Unveiling the Deep Historical Significance of Erinla in Ondo’s Glorious Past A few weeks ago, I took a bold step forward: launching the grading of rural roads in Ondo West Local Government, with a special focus on Ondo West Constituency 2. I live by the timeless truth that charity begins at home—but it must never end there. My mission became crystal clear—to make it possible for any saloon car to drive smoothly all the way to Erinla, transforming isolation into opportunity. My drive is threefold: political, economic, and above all, historical. Politically, it stems from a painful moment during the 2024 gubernatorial campaign that brought our leader His Excellency, @LuckyAiyedatiwa , to power as Executive Governor of Ondo State. LOC campaign Itinerary was set to reach Erinla, but the deplorable road conditions forced us to halt at Bagbe. That day, I vowed: something must change.Showcasing the strength of Ekimogun must include the beauty and uniqueness of our rural communities. Recognizing the immense strain on government resources, I chose to self-finance this vital work—because waiting is no longer an option. Economically, the Bagbe-Erinla-Tokunbo road is far more than a path—it's a vital artery linking Ward 4, Ward 6, Ward 2, and roughly 50 agrarian communities in Ondo West. In our farming heartland, good roads mean easier access to markets, faster transport of produce, reduced hardship, and real economic revival. As a son of the soil, who has witnessed the daily struggles firsthand—the mud, the breakdowns, the lost opportunities—I could no longer stand by. But the deepest motivation is historical. Erinla is no ordinary village; it is a living monument to Ondo resilience, etched into our kingdom's ancient story for centuries. Erinla stands among the early satellite settlements founded by Ondo emigrants—alongside places like Igunshin,Igbado, Igbindo, Ajue, Ilu-Nla, and others. Most profoundly, during a turbulent period of civil strife in the 18th century, Erinla became a mighty refuge. High Chief Kolidoye, revered in our annals as Lisapatako, led over 30,000 Ondo people to safety there, shielding them from chaos and preserving our heritage. His descendants proudly lead the community to this day. It was in that era of vigilance and valor that his son—my own great-great-grandfather, Ogunupe Falemara—served as a sentry. Coined from his chieftaincy title, Obagbemi of Ondo, he founded present-day Bagbe, planting roots that still anchor our lineage and land. This history is not distant lore; it pulses in our veins. Erinla sheltered thousands in crisis—now, we must honor that legacy by refusing to let its people remain cut off. With the grading underway, our rural road revolution has only begun. Bagbe, headquarters of Ondo South West LCDA, holds strategic promise—we will make the Bagbe-Ilunla road fully motorable, extend grading to neighboring villages, connect Ward 12, and push for completion of the vital bridge to Igbado. These links will unleash development across the corridor. We've already advanced grading toward Oke-Isa (gateway to Igbindo, Ward 6 headquarters) and also set our sights on Laje and its environs. Also the Lujomu, Ajagbale communities and other exterior of Ward 8 are all under my purview and will reach out in due course. These are ambitious endeavors, but with unwavering commitment and collective dedication, they are within reach. I still remember cruising these paths in my grandfather's car—now, I dream of every family experiencing that same freedom and progress. Furthermore, Working in partnership with the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology. I have Secured funding for the Bagbe Township Road and will be flag-off in the coming weeks. Adelosoye Maxwell Ademola Vice Chairman, Ondo South West LCDA Convener, AMA Cares #APC #ondo

My parents separated about 16 years ago. A few months later, my Dad brought in a new lady he wanted to get married to. Shortly after, she fell sick and died in 2011. We mourned her for a while. And my Dad decided to move on and started talking to another Lady. He brought her home and introduced her to us. We were happy at least that we will have someone who will be cooking and taking care of us while dad went to work. A couple of months later, My dad and her had issues so they separated and she parked out from our place. We later heard news that she was dead after a brief illness. Ahh!! Dead how? It was quite surprising. But I was too young to understand anything. My Dad was devastated and it was clearly visible. So he took a pause on getting to know another Lady. For over a year, no Lady came to visit him. And he never talked about a woman again. It was just me, my brother and him trying to survive. Then one day, he told us that he is talking to another Lady, and he is sure we will like her. We started talking to her over the phone when they had conversations and we already liked her vibe. Then she travelled down to come visit us from her State. She came with lots of gifts and stuffs for my Brother and I. This particular one was so loving and beautiful. She liked us as if we were her own children. They started dating and it was beautiful to see my Dad truly happy again. Without wasting time, Dad started making marriage arrangements. He visited her Family in another state with one of his Uncles and dates were fixed. A few months later, this Lady also fell seriously sick. My Dad was confused so he started running around with her looking for solutions. One morning back then, while I was preparing for school, he called and broke the news. We had lost her. The trauma this whole experience caused us was crazy. I'm literally tearing up as I type this.

I once dated a lady who was HIV positive, and she never told me. At the time, I was schooling in Osogbo while she lived in Lagos, so it was a long-distance relationship. One day, I decided to visit my aunt in Lagos and used the opportunity to see her as well. When I got there, we hugged and kissed. After that, she went to the kitchen to prepare some food for me while I stayed in the room. A few minutes later, she came back and tried to get something from the top of her wardrobe. Suddenly, a bottle fell down and rolled toward where I was sitting. I picked it up to help her. When I looked at the label on the bottle, I saw the name of the drug — Lamivudine. At that moment, my heart dropped. I was doing my posting in Internal Medicine at the time, so I immediately recognized the medication. The moment she realized I had seen it, she started shaking and stuttering. I asked her what she was using the medication for. Guess what she said , toilet infection. I didn’t even know when I burst into tears. I kept pressing further, and eventually she broke down and confessed that she had contracted HIV from an ex. Then I asked her the question that was already burning inside me:
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Her response was that she was afraid of losing me. I left immediately and rushed to LASUTH to see a doctor. After explaining everything to him, he told me that the risk of contracting HIV from kissing is extremely low unless either of us had open wounds in the mouth. He also explained that if she was taking her medication properly, her viral load would likely be very low, which significantly reduces the chance of transmission. But honestly, I was too scared to rely on reassurance alone. I insisted on taking post-exposure prophylaxis. In fact, I couldn’t even wait for the normal three-month window period to test for HIV. Two weeks later, I used almost all my school fees to run a PCR test because my mind simply could not rest. Thank God it came out Negative From that day, I told myself: never again. There were moments during that period when I would just sit down, look at myself, and say out loud, “Tomiwa your life has finally spoil. The fear alone was overwhelming. PS: Having HIV is not the end of life. People living with HIV can still live full and healthy lives. But please, always be honest with your partner about your status before starting a relationship.

@official_gbeng You are right political affiliation does not determine family ties....I have been in different political parties with my dad. Now that I am a front line aspirant he has to join me. Because why will someone's father support you when your own dont trust you? Vis a vis child.
