Fundamentally Trump or any future American President will have to accept that the US can still live with a prosperous Iran without nuclear weapons. Israel cannot because it is deeply ideological.Clearly US and Israeli core objectives vastly vary. The war has exposed this.

Today I$rael tried to kill me in a targeted airstrike in southern Lebanon as I was reporting on was the targeting of bridges and the forced displacement of 1 million people, an ethnic cleansing operation on a larger scale than the Nakba I have absolutely no doubt that this was deliberate. Despite claims there were no warnings ahead of the strike and no notifications sent to the Lebanese Army who allowed us to film As we have seen in Gaza they want to silence journalists who document and report their war crimes It is the western powers who provide political and military support for I$rael, arming it to the teeth to carry out genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing here in Lebanon. They are not simply complicit, but active participants and should be held accountable for their actions. But if I$rael thinks today’s strike will silence us and keep us out of the field they are very, very mistaken

It is time to open a path towards de-escalation in order to restore stability in the Middle East. France calls for the immediate implementation of a moratorium on strikes targeting civilian infrastructure, whether related to water or to energy. Freedom and security of navigation must be restored. As the region enters a period of religious celebrations and renewal, tempers must cool and hostilities must cease, in order to give a real chance to the prospect of a negotiated and sustainable solution.

Shocking error from Michael Clarke on @skynews just now. Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon wasn't to take out Hezbollah as he claimed. It was to remove Lebanon's government. Hezbollah didn't exist at that time. It emerged in response to that invasion.

Israel is a tiny, genocidal occupying power with a single-digit population that enforces an apartheid system. America’s unconditional support for this regime has done nothing but artificially entrench its hostility toward Iran, a millennia-old civilization of more than 90 million people, sitting at the crossroads of the world’s energy and trade routes. It has alienated at least 1.5 billion Muslims across the Islamic world, turned the Global South against the United States, and ignited anti-American sentiment on every continent. This relationship has also corrupted American democracy from within: it has turned Congress into an Israeli outpost, forced politicians and the media into rigid conformity, effectively nullified the US Constitution, and compelled ordinary Americans to pay in blood and treasure for a foreign government most neither like nor understand. The United States has gained absolutely NOTHING from this toxic, abusive, and perverse alliance.
