And I think I’m more shocked that people really believe in the “don’t get pregnant without a ring” thing. Like openly judging folks for that. Very 1950s of all of you to have this obsession with nuclear families and the “right” way to do things when it’s never a guarantee.

I boil this down to the fact that many ppl can’t stand to be corrected. That’s why some ppl will just never be good partners bc they can’t integrate the idea that they’re hurting someone. There’s always some kind of excuse, whether it’s timing being wrong, the delivery or mood.

One thing I look out for in men is the ability to be emotionally stable when things aren’t going well with them. I admire men like that so much. The calm headed.
Some men lash out and become violent, some withdraw and ghost, some become a different person entirely, once I notice these things. I gradually withdraw.

I can’t stress this enough. Marry someone who has their finances in order. They don’t have to be rich, but they should at least be able to hold things down. There will be moments when you’re vulnerable, like during pregnancy, when you may have to depend on them financially. That’s not the time to discover they can’t carry the weight. Don’t gamble your life.
