There's a difference between a misunderstanding and someone refusing to understand you. Misunderstandings can usually be resolved. But some are committed to not understanding, because they don't like your decision. Learn to tell the difference.

Well that ends the debate on deaths in Gaza. Hamas itself is admitting that 80% of casualties were combatants. There was never a genocide. You have been lied to and manipulated.

You become an adult when you realize your parents aren’t perfect. You become a man when you forgive them for it. You become a good father when you repent, pursue growth, and entrust your children to a grace bigger than your mistakes.

Things that are true at the same time imho: —The shooting of Alex Pretti was an unjustified tragedy I don’t care what his politics are he is an American with constitutional rights —Walz is a baffoon using his own citizens as pawns in a game of civil war to distract from fraud and other political problems —Noem is incompetent and lied about the shooting to spin a false narrative and should be fired and replaced immediately —ICE needs to level up the professionalism (process, marked uniforms/vehicles, lose the masks) or will lose credibility to do their job —MN mobs following people around accusing them of being ICE, storming church’s and directly antagonizing ICE agents are wrong —Trump admin needs to deescalate and chart a path to cooperation with local MN law enforcement the way they are in other states —Biden admin let 10M+ illegal immigrants in without vetting and now we have a huge mess on our hands and deserve a ton of blame

@TheRochaSays He's not saying the two things are equivalent. He's addressing followers of Jesus who won't speak truth on both sides of the aisle to align with their politics. That's saying that these 2 things are equal?

Holy crap. Chris Broussard is one ignorant moron. I knew his sports takes were some of the worst takes in the space, but he’s clearly just as dumb with all of his takes in all arenas. To think these two things are equivalent is to have the intelligence level of a brick.

My brother is taking a lot of heat for this tweet. But the intent is pretty clear. There's a tendency to soften the truth on both sides of the aisle to align with our political "side," and for followers of Jesus our allegiance is much higher. He's not equating these two things.

@StephenRuss To be clear, I'm referring to the widely publicized video, not the one you just shared above.

@StephenRuss This is why better training is needed. De-escalating is always better, if at all possible, and LEO's are trained to know that. In the longer video, the officer was being harassed, but it was not physical until he made it that way. Escalating unnecessarily isn't helpful.

Two things can be true at once. 1) ICE is clearly operating beyond their level of training, and the results are horrifying. 2) If people had the respect for law to submit to authority, even if exercised poorly, and have a day in court, most violent LEO encounters would vanish.

@StephenRuss This is no justification for the guys later behavior. His resistance of arrest escalated further, and if he in fact pulled a gun as some are saying, then there's simply no excuse. We have lost any expectation of a decent society.

@StephenRuss The other factor is that these officers often respond unlike LEO's, and more like neighborhood gangs. I've never seen professionals handle a situation like this. All the guy seemed to be doing *initially* was de-escalate a thug with a badge. Who's inciting at this moment? 👇🏼

@StephenRuss We agree on this. I've had too many interactions with law enforcement, both through family and through church, to believe the narrative the media sells to fuel chaos and disorder.

@maynard_clay Obviously I’m biased, but in my lifetime it’s always been persecution of law enforcement that the left uses as a primary tactic. It doesn’t allow for the conversations that are needed. Infuriating.

This equivalence is obviously insane, but there is a throughline here. Which is that this administration — and its array of compliant media companies — really want you to think that the marginalized people they're actively victimizing are somehow the real bullies. It's batshit
