Congratulations to Baltimore on historic public safety progress. Homicides are down 31% last year and 59% over five years. In 2025, the city recorded its fewest homicides in 50 years.

Proud to have signed Council Bill 25-0116 into law this week. This bill will ensure that security guards working in Baltimore City are paid a respectable wage for the work that they do.

We are grateful to share that the Baltimore Police officer who was shot earlier today has been discharged from the hospital and is now recovering. We want to thank our @BaltimorePolice officers, our first responders and all who helped to bring this dangerous situation to an end.

Yesterday, I stood alongside our Congressional Delegation demanding accountability & transparency about what is happening behind closed doors at this ICE Detention Center. Let me be clear, WE DO NOT want this here. And we will continue to speak out against this lawless operation.
