This is historic and hard-fought progress—but our work is not done. Any life lost to violence in our city is one too many. I want to thank the brave men and women of @BaltimorePolice, our community violence intervention ecosystem, @OAGMaryland, @BaltimoreMONSE, @BaltimoreSAO, and most importantly, our residents for their collective work to make our neighborhoods safer than they've been in decades. Now is the time to go even further: to expand the strategies that are working, to strengthen the partnerships that have gotten us to this point, and to maintain our focus on saving lives. My team and I are just as committed to this work today as we have been since day one.

The city has already restricted parking in some downtown areas ahead of Baltimore’s Artscape festival this weekend. As Kaicey Baylor reports, the free two-day arts festival returns Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. around City Hall and under I-83, featuring live music, art installations, food vendors and curated experiences. This year’s headliners include The Roots and Stephanie Mills. Officials say several downtown streets will also close beginning Friday afternoon through Monday night. each home now has multiple families living in each one so trash piles up quickly, especially during holidays when there's no trash pick up. we need sturdier and bigger cans for everyone. especially now since a bunch of peoples cans got stolen.

@MayorBMScott my neighbordhood has a rat problem that's blown out of control and I've looked up ways to solve this on our own but truly the only way is everyone on the block needs multiple new trash cans since the rats chewed through every one and more frequent trash pick up.

Abigail Goldman was the heart and soul of the Board of Elections for 43 years. We are all so grateful for her service to our city, we continue to hold her community, family, and loved ones in our hearts.

Six innocent workers lost their lives. Our residents, businesses, commuters, taxpayers, and port communities suffered enormous harm. The collapse disrupted our transportation network, damaged critical public infrastructure, interfered with maritime commerce, harmed our waterways, and imposed staggering costs on the City and its people — costs the City continues to bear.

This indictment supports what Baltimore has alleged from the beginning: this tragedy was not some unavoidable accident, but the result of horrendous corporate conduct, the consequences of which the people of Baltimore have been forced to endure.
