The sisters returned home in March 1945. The bridge over Yellow Breeches Creek on Henry Town Road is now known as the Lt. Geneva Jenkins & Lt. Ressa Jenkins Memorial Bridge.

It was my honor to dedicate a bridge in Sevier County for two sisters who volunteered as nurses in the Army in WWII. Geneva and Ressa Jenkins were from Jones Cove and served honorably in the Pacific Theater. Japanese forces captured Geneva and sent her to an internment camp.(1/2)
