More than 200 activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla who were seized at sea by Israeli forces and taken to the Greek island of Crete were released earlier today, with photos showing visible injuries including bruising, cuts, and swelling; participants say they were beaten and abused in custody.

The IOF raped international activists they kidnapped from the Sumud Flotilla boats in international waters. Not one. Not two. Not three. Out of the 428 activists returning from captivity today, many incidents of sexual violence and rape have been reported.

The bill board campaign by CDA against Guest Houses in Islamabad. The representatives of nearly 700 guest houses in Islamabad say they are deeply concerned over this campaign as thousands of families depend on this sector. More than 10,000 individuals associated with these establishments may be affected, despite the fact that several guest houses have already obtained relief from the High Court and Supreme Court via stay orders. While regulation and compliance are important, any action impacting businesses and employment must be carried out with transparency, legal clarity, and due consideration for the economic consequences. At a time of economic uncertainty, policies that threaten small businesses, tourism, and employment deserve serious reconsideration. #Islamabad #GuestHouses #BusinessCommunity #Pakistan #tourism

You react to emotional tweets but stay silent on real reform. I say: Dismantle the colonial civil service. End elite downtown estates, perk plots & search committees. Bring merit back. Silence. Yet that’s how we actually fight poverty — by opening opportunities instead of letting the powerful own everything. Time to yell and scream for real change. Join me. #ReformPakistan

Nadeem bhai I challenge you or any of the well-off people here who think our poor people are lazy and live a luxurious life to spend one night without air conditioning. Just one night. Those of our poor brothers and sisters, who are exactly like us, except that they are poor, live very hard lives where food is a luxury and health care unaffordable. When poor people go back to villages they help their families with harvesting or sowing, they help rebuild the walls and roofs that caved in during the previous rains, they work butchering animals during Barka Eid, and yes they also spend time with their spouses, kids and parents. Is that so bad? Don’t we all do that?

Eid coming labor already gone for a holiday. Return in 10 days. we ALL love a good dramatic lament about poverty 😭💔 Yet the poor? They’re out here living their best lives — taking long luxurious holidays, endless breaks, and sliding into laziness at the first opportunity! Why work hard for money when you can just… not? Daily wage laborers refusing to put in extra time for piece rate? Conclusion: There is no poverty, folks. People are contented. ! 🏖️💅”

Gwadar was part of Oman then Prime Minister Malik Firoz Khan Noon (who was a Punjabi), convinced Oman to sell it to Pakistan. The purchase costing $3 million at the time was largely funded by a donation from Aga Khan IV (who was persian/italian).

📜Drop Site News is publishing below the full transcript of Cable I-0678 — the classified Pakistani diplomatic cypher dated March 7, 2022, at the center of Imran Khan’s claim that the United States orchestrated his removal from power. The document was previously described by The Intercept, which first reported on its contents in August 2023. The Intercept’s source, who had access to the document as a member of the military, spoke of growing disillusionment with Pakistan’s military leadership and the impact on military morale following its involvement in the political fight against Khan. The source said they hoped the document “would finally confirm what ordinary people, as well as the rank and file of the armed forces, had long suspected about the Pakistani military, and force a reckoning within the institution.” They warned the military was pushing Pakistan toward a crisis similar to the one in 1971 that led to the secession of Bangladesh. Drop Site is now publishing the document in full so that it may be part of the historical record.
