@XantheClay I was thinking of it just tonight at dinner since snail (second row, apologies for the blurred shot) was on the menu during a long meal. It’s the sort of name, once known, never lets go. Doesn’t matter if the meal is French, English, New Orleanian, or Japanese; wallfish abound.

Firing my agent was an amicable, cordial parting of ways. Divergent interests. Best of luck and all that. But the deciding factor for me was that no one at the agency had bothered to follow me on any platform. Agents: follow your clients. It is the literal least you can do.

Knödel are a longtime interest of mine. I own several German and Austrian books devoted to the subject. While I am slavering over the new Knödelreich from @katha_esskultur et al, €30 for the ebook is *insane* (and under not authors’ control). Time to order the hardback.

*not under authors’ control, but still: an outrageous sum for an epub. Buy the physical book at nearly the same price.
