@JimmB @ODOT_Cleveland @ODOT_Statewide Just so you’re aware, ODOT can only detour on other ODOT maintained roads. So, while there may be neighborhood streets that would be a shorter detour, ODOT cannot use them for the detour, but you can. Have a great day!

Traffic Alert: SR 176 northbound between I-480 and W. 14th St. will be closing today at 4 p.m. through early June. This is for bridge repairs to a key structural component. Detour will be I-480 to I-77 north to I-480 west.

@Nati_Unfiltered @ODOT_Cincinnati We only would if there was a structural issue, like the I-71 truck fire under the US 50 overpass a couple weeks ago. We aren't going to allow people to drive over a bridge that is potentially damaged until we know it isn't. Different situation. Either way, safety is the focus.

@mbruning81 @ODOT_Cincinnati Yes. So it was the FD that did it not ODOT. Radio news blamed ODOT. I made tweet about ODOT.
The fire had been extinguished for hours, literal hours, before they reopened. Wife sat for 2.5 hours for no reason. I was unhappy. Good to know it wasn’t ODOT holding it up

It is not ok to keep a whole ass major highway shut down like this for hours for a fucking vehicle fire that was put out 2 hours ago.

@Nati_Unfiltered @ODOT_Cincinnati So, that's a different situation. If there's the potential of structural damage, it makes total sense to ensure a structure is safe before reopening to traffic. If it's simply a vehicle fire on a roadway, unless there's pavement damage, it's up to FD/PD to reopen.

@mbruning81 @ODOT_Cincinnati blame the news then. Said the delay was ODOT needing to give the go ahead there was no structural damage before allowing traffic to pass through.
