The reason why parishes hold Bridegroom Matins in the evening is due to convenience. All of the stuff about “flipping time upside down” or whatever is just a post hoc justification. No such thing is mentioned in the rubrics.

@Nektarius_ I tried to make the point that there's a difference between dispensation and objective morality but I was also talking to a woman so I didn't want it to get too emotional.

There needs to be an Orthodox council in the US to standardize a western rite. The western rite is a beautiful concept it just needs standardization.

@zulu_brah @Gedeon_Optinius I would recommend Fr. Seraphim rose to catechumens, definitely not in the same vein as St. Maximus the Confessor. His soul after death is a good work on contemporary views of death and the afterlife compared to a patristic look at orthodox views.

@FloridaMan7745 @ThePolemikOne I've been told by my friends who live in Wichita that the nearby Western right people would rather go to a Catholic Church than to the Eastern right. They seperate themselves willingly from the eastern rites. Not to mention the practice of flattening the eucharist.

Dyer criticizes clerics theology all the time even the EP and many clergy say to avoid him. You people only apply clericalism when they agree with you.

Ill be honest i havent really looked into the modernist vs latinizer debacle but on paper dyer has more credibility so you cant really use him as a hypocritical point against clericalism.
